Hurricane & Impact-Rated Glass
We install impact-rated storefronts, doors and windows in hurricane regions, selected for the building’s design pressures and installed exactly to their product approvals.
System, not just glass
Impact performance comes from the tested assembly: laminated glass, frame, glazing method and anchors. Putting impact glass in a non-rated frame does not create an impact-rated opening.
Selection
- Confirm design wind pressures for the site
- Confirm wind-borne debris and HVHZ requirements
- Select an approved system that meets them
- Install to the approval’s anchorage details
Replacing damaged impact glass
Cracked impact glass must be replaced with glass matching the approved make-up, reglazed with the approved method.
