Commercial Glass Installation & Repair in Chicago, IL
Thermally broken storefronts, entrances, windows and interior glass for Chicago businesses, permitted under the city’s own code, plus repair and replacement of aging glass.
What happens when you call
Talk to a glazier
Tell us what broke or what you need built. We ask about glass type, opening size, frame condition and whether the space is secure.
Make it safe, then make it right
Broken openings are boarded or temporarily glazed first. Then the opening is measured and the permanent glass is ordered to fit.
Written scope, clean records
You get a line-item estimate and photos of the damage and the finished work for your landlord or insurance carrier.
Storefronts built for Chicago winters
A storefront that works in Chicago has to stop cold, not just let light in. On new installations we use thermally broken frames, insulated low-E glass and entrances with tight seals and thresholds, and we pay attention to vestibules and door placement on exposed corners where wind drives straight at the entrance. The result is an entry without drafts, frost on the frames or snow on the floor.
Chicago’s building code and permits
The City of Chicago writes and enforces its own building code, separate from the model codes most suburbs adopt, and storefront replacements generally require a city permit. Work on Chicago Landmarks and in landmark districts needs Commission on Chicago Landmarks review. We confirm the requirements for the address and prepare the submittal.
Older buildings, new storefronts
Neighborhood commercial streets across the city are lined with older masonry buildings whose storefronts have been replaced several times, often badly. A new storefront usually means correcting the opening as well: new sill, proper flashing, a level base for the frame and a perimeter seal that ties into the masonry. Doing that work right is what makes the new storefront last.
Downtown and tenant improvements
In the Loop, River North, the West Loop and Fulton Market, we install glass office fronts, partitions and conference rooms for tenant improvements and entrance systems for ground-floor retail and lobbies, coordinating deliveries and hoisting with building management.
