Commercial Glass Installation & Repair in Miami, FL
Impact-rated storefronts, entrances and windows for Miami businesses, installed to Miami-Dade product approvals and the Florida Building Code, plus replacement of damaged impact glass.
What happens when you call
Talk to a glazier
Tell us what broke or what you need built. We ask about glass type, opening size, frame condition and whether the space is secure.
Make it safe, then make it right
Broken openings are boarded or temporarily glazed first. Then the opening is measured and the permanent glass is ordered to fit.
Written scope, clean records
You get a line-item estimate and photos of the damage and the finished work for your landlord or insurance carrier.
Installing in the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone
Miami-Dade County is part of Florida’s High-Velocity Hurricane Zone, the most demanding wind and impact environment in the country. Every exterior storefront, door and window installed here has to be a tested and approved product, usually with a Miami-Dade Notice of Acceptance, and it has to be installed exactly as the approval describes: the same anchors, spacing, glazing method and substrate.
An installation that does not follow the approval can fail inspection or leave the building owner with a system that will not perform in a storm. We read the approval before we price the job and build the installation around it.
Selecting an approved system
The right system depends on the opening size, the design wind pressure for the building, the look the owner wants and the budget. Large storefront openings often need deeper mullions or intermediate supports to meet design pressures with impact glass. We compare approved systems that fit the opening and explain the trade-offs before the owner commits.
Permits and inspections
Miami-Dade, the City of Miami, Miami Beach, Coral Gables and the other municipalities each issue their own permits and inspect impact installations. Submittals include the product approvals and anchorage details. We prepare the submittal, schedule the inspections and keep the approval documents on site.
Replacing damaged impact glass
Impact glass that has been struck usually cracks but stays in the frame. It has done its job, but it no longer has full strength and must be replaced with glass that matches the approved make-up. We identify the system and approval, order matching laminated or laminated insulated glass, and reglaze with the approved method.
